LMM134-K Nurse Ratched - Part of Ladies’ “Go To” Shirtwaist Dress– Fit and Flare —1939 to Early 1950s, Sizes 4-32. This is a subset of 134 and only contains the pattern pieces and instructions to make the dress pictured.  If you own Laughing Moon pattern 134 you already have the pattern pieces for this dress.  Modern, Retro, Theater, World War II, or Reenactor.  This dress can be made to resemble the nurse uniform worn in the 1975 film “One flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” or the 2020 TV series “Ratched”.  The pattern is copied from a documented extant garment dated approximately 1950.  The fit of the bodice has intentional ease to enable free movement for dance, exercise, or work.  There are instructions on how to make the fit tighter if desired.  This pattern is a dress with separate bodice and attached skirt with the bodice ending at the natural waistline.  The bodice front has horizontal bust darts (which can be repositioned as desired) and four pleats at the waist.  The neckline is high with the choice of shirt or no collar.  The bodice can have an optional breast pocket.  The back has a yoke with the bodice gathered into it and two pleats at the waist for fitting.  The sleeves are long with an optional cuff. The sleeve has a very full sleeve head which is either darted, pleated, or gathered into the armhole.  The skirt can be made with either no pockets, patch pockets, or large inserted pockets.  The dress opens down the front and closes with buttons from neck to hem.  An optional 1 3/4” wide belt is included as well as a plain nurse cap.
